Henna is a natural herb that is popularly known as Mehandi in India.It has been used by men and women to color, condition and to keep the hair healthy. It helps to prevent itching and dandruff formation in the hair and scalp. Henna can be used in a number of different ways to keep your hair strong and beautiful . I am listing down some of the easy homemade henna packs.

1.Henna, beet-root and coffee pack to color your hair

Henna is the best hair pack which doesn’t have any side effects and gets free from grey hair solution. This pack is rich in proteins.Take 2 cups of henna, tea decoction to mix, 1 lemon, 2 tablespoons of coffee powder and 1 cup of beet-root juice. This is the best and right hair pack for hair coloring. Pout henna in iron bowl and pour tea decoction into it. Mix them well and make sure to avoid lumps. It is better to prefer an iron vessel as it allows henna to oxidize and give a rich deep tint. Soak them overnight. In the next day, add coffee powder into it, before applying add lemon juice and beet-root juice. Mix them well and apply this mixture to your hair evenly. Leave the pack on hair for about 2 – 3 hours. Rinse your away with plain water and then followed with a mild shampoo.

2.Amla, Mehandi, fenugreek powder for controlling hair fall

This pack stops your hair falling completely. Take 1 cup of amla powder, 3 spoons of Mehandi powder, 2 spoons of fenugreek powder,take as required, mix all the ingredients well, keep it for 1 hour and apply thoroughly on your hair and scalp, leave it for at least 45 minutes, then wash it off.

3.Green tea and henna powder to colour and to condition 

Soak henna powder overnight in freshly brewed black or green tea, apply in the morning to your hair and scalp,leave it for about an hour and then wash off with plain water. Then use mild shampoos to wash your hair. It improves the texture and adds shine to them.

4.Lemon, henna and black tea to get shiny hair

If you want to make your hair shiny and beautiful add little lemon juice to the henna pack that is soaked in black tea overnight,then apply in the morning leave for at least 45 minutes then wash it off.

5.Henna, amla, hibiscus, methi for hair care

Henna can also be used as a natural hair conditioner by adding henna powder, amla powder, hibiscus flower powder, methi powder,mix all of these in sufficient amount of curd before 1-2 hours of applying it to the hair. Then wash off after 1 hour with plain water.

    Are the prepacked Henna hair colours any good. I remember back in the 90’s I got Henne hair colour and they lasted for what seems like forever. But now I see green Henna powder being sold. How to I use that for hair colouring to cover grays?
