AT HOME FACIAL – DIY

I always like to use natural ingredients to pamper my skin at least once in a month, With these ingredients you know you are nurturing your skin and not applying any chemicals to your face.Giving yourself a facial will leave your skin feeling fresh, renewed and beautiful. Using basic household ingredients, you can create a facial scrub and mask tailored to your skin type. Lets see step by step.

  • CLEANSING
  • EXFOLIATING
  • STEAMING
  • TONING
  • MASKING
  • MOISTURIZING

CLEANSING:

I normally use mix of Almond oil and Coconut oil for cleansing, rub this oil into your skin, then wipe it off with a towel dampened with warm water. This makes a great makeup remover and leaves your skin soft and moist.

EXFOLIATING:

For exfoliating take 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon honey and mix with water and apply it all over the face in circular motion, scrub it well then rinse of with warm water

STEAMING:

Steaming opens your pores to allow impurities to come out. It will leave your face with a flushed, healthy feeling, making it an essential step in any facial. Place a small pot of water on the stove and bring it to a simmer. Drape a towel over your head and place your face over the pot, so that the steam hits your face. Keep steaming for face for three to five minutes, then turn off the heat.

  • To make an herbal steam, add five drops of lavender essential oil or peppermint extract.

TONING:

Green Tea works great as toner, for this you have to put loose green tea leaves in to one cup of boiling water allow the tea to steep for 3 to 5 minutes, strain out the tea and pour in to a container, use this as a toner.

    MASKING:

You can use any facial mask which suits your skin i have listed down some in my previous blog you can check it out here HOME REMEDIES FOR GLOWING SKIN . I normally use Almond pack Take 1 tablespoon each of almonds and honey, and 2 tablespoons each of yogurt and oats. Mix it well and apply it on the face. Leave it for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water. This pack will make your skin shiny and naturally fair, instantly.

    MOISTURIZING:

Make your own to finish up your facial. Moisturizer will keep your skin from drying out, making the effects of your facial last as long as possible.I normally use Alovera gel , i just take Alovera  leaf and takeout the fresh gel and apply on my face. This really helps to lock out all the benefits from facial.

All this scrubbing, steaming and soaking can make your delicate facial skin feel sensitive. It’s best to wait a few hours before you apply makeup. Most makeup contains chemicals that can irritate the skin. Let yourself enjoy your facial for as long as possible.
